A Republican Rip-Off
Last week, I wrote to you about the new administration and their "funding freeze" that would impact billions of dollars that state and local governments rely on to provide essential services in their communities.
Earlier this week, a federal judge in Washington, D.C. issued a temporary restraining order against the new administration and its effort to freeze funding for federal grants and other programs. Despite this ruling, the Republican Rip-Off scheme continues.
This time, Trump is empowering an unelected billionaire with many conflicts of interest to put my constituents' Social Security and Medicare benefits and personal data at risk.
Trump is also empowering him to interfere with the important work of USAID, undermining national security and U.S. global leadership.
I have heard from many of my constituents – both here in person in Northwest Washington and via phone calls and emails – who are fed up with the Republican Rip-Off. This Administration is doing nothing to lower costs and create jobs for my constituents – they are only sowing confusion and chaos.
We cannot allow this administration to continue recklessly disregarding the consequences of their actions, and this funding freeze hurts the hardworking families I represent in Northwest Washington.
More soon,
Rick
