We need to win in November to codify Roe v. Wade
I am proud to share that Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America) has endorsed our campaign.
“With MAGA Republicans hellbent on ending abortion access nationwide, we need leaders in Congress who will fight for reproductive freedom now more than ever — and we know we can count on Rep. Larsen to do exactly that. Reproductive Freedom for All is proud to endorse him for reelection, and our members look forward to mobilizing to send him back to Congress this November.”
— Mini Timmaraju, President and CEO of Reproductive Freedom for All
In 2022, I was outraged by the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. This backward ruling struck a blow to our basic constitutional rights of liberty, privacy, and equality – which is why the American people overwhelmingly oppose the decision.
Two important pieces of legislation could restore reproductive freedom across this country: the Women’s Health Protection Act and the Ensuring Women's Right to Reproductive Freedom Act. The first would create a statutory right for health care providers to provide abortion care, and for patients to receive care, regardless of state attempts to forbid care; and the second would ensure that no one could prevent, restrict, impede, or retaliate against a person traveling to another state to have lawful abortion care. These pieces of legislation passed with narrow margins in the House (219 to 210, and 223 to 205, respectively) illustrating just how important it is that we take back the House in two weeks and elect reproductive freedom champions.
Since then, Senate Republicans blocked the Women's Right to Reproductive Freedom Act and the Chaos Caucus’ attempts to undermine reproductive rights have accelerated. But, as a member of Congress with a 100% voting record on choice, I will fight hard to codify abortion rights nationwide in federal law. Organizations like Reproductive Freedom for All are on the frontlines of this work, and I am proud to stand with them.
The stakes are high this November, and we need to win to make sure we can make Roe v. Wade the law of the land.
