Dad was a union guy

I am humbled to share that I have earned the endorsement of a union very special to me: IBEW Local 77, the union my father was a proud member of during his time working as a lineman for Snohomish County PUD.

Standing with unions like the IBEW Local 77 is about more than just politics for me. Doing right by working people means doing right by families like mine. Growing up, my dad's strong union made a tangible difference in our household, just as unions do for countless families today. I will always work to ensure the needs of working people are heard in Congress and in our community.

Unions represent the good that comes from us banding together to demand more of each other. For generations, workers have forged better lives through higher wages, improved benefits, and stronger protections thanks to their ability to collectively take a stand.

And, as we struggle through a particularly divisive time in our country's history, I cannot think of a moment in my lifetime when union values have been more needed: a sense of togetherness and a commitment to hard work.

That is why I am proud to have the support of more than a dozen unions and union leaders in our grassroots campaign to restore the economic dignity of the working class:

As your representative in Congress, I will always be a voice for working families in Northwest Washington — and beyond. That is non-negotiable.

In solidarity,

Rick
