One month to vote for our values
We are less than one month from Election Day. I have worked hard to support legislation that aligns with our values in Northwest Washington, but there is more work to do.
With less than one month left, it is time for each of us to remember the stakes of this election. We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines.
It is an honor to represent the 2nd District. Our shared values – working hard, caring for each other, and serving the community – guide my work in Congress to serve my friends and neighbors. I am committed to protecting reproductive freedom, combatting fentanyl in our communities, building an economy that works for everyone, increasing access to affordable health care, and supporting our veterans.
We need to vote to protect this work up and down the ballot in November. Each of us needs to do our part. When Democrats take back Congress, we will make Roe v. Wade the law of the land; we will fight for affordable healthcare; and we will work to lower the cost of living for everyone.
I am proud to have brought $500 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to the 2nd District to revitalize our communities and create jobs.
For many in Northwest Washington, our jobs are not just an occupation – they are a source of dignity. That is why, I support raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, guaranteeing equal pay for equal work, providing skills training across sectors and especially for our youth, and growing the strength of organized labor.
One month from November 5 is an important reminder for us all: every day between now and Election Day can help us build the momentum to take back Congress and make progress for us all.
More soon,
Rick
