Good news for Tulalip infrastructure:

As the lead Democrat on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I have seen firsthand how investing in infrastructure builds our economy. The latest T&I news comes out of Tulalip.

In the summer, I helped secure $4.9 million for Tulalip Tribes' road safety projects. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) awarded the funding to the Tulalip Tribes to plan, design, and construct improvements to the 4th Street and 88th Street NE crossings of I-5.

These two interchanges regularly experience congestion and mobility challenges for cars, trucks, pedestrians, and transit users. DOT awarded the funding through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Discretionary Grant Program, which enables communities of all sizes to carry out road, rail, transit, and other surface transportation projects with significant local or regional impact.

Since 2021, I have secured over $80 million in RAISE grants for Northwest Washington. In our state, transportation means jobs. You cannot have a big league economy with little league infrastructure.

I will continue to bring home federal funding to build a better future for our communities.

More soon,

Rick
