Ahead of Labor Day Weekend:
I was raised in a union household. As the son of a union power line worker and a mom who managed the books while raising eight kids, I learned early in life the value of a dollar and the importance of hard work — and how unions helped families like mine thrive.
I know firsthand that a good paying, union job is the key to growing the middle class. So, ahead of Labor Day Weekend, I wanted to share what unions mean to me and for our community.
We are facing a crisis across America, where some of our hardest workers struggle each day to feed their families and afford the basics.
I believe that unions are the first and best line of support for America's working class. I am running for re-election so I can continue to fight for working class people here in Northwest Washington. Contribute $3 now to join my fight.
Unions represent the good that comes from us banding together to demand more of each other. For generations, workers have forged better lives through stronger wages, benefits, and protections thanks to their ability to collectively take a stand.
And, as we struggle through a particularly divisive time in our country's history, I cannot think of a moment in my lifetime when union values have been more needed: a sense of togetherness and a commitment to hard work. That is why I am proud to stand with unions in our grassroots campaign to restore the economic dignity of the working class. Donate $3 now and support this pro-union campaign.
As your representative in Congress, I will always be a voice for working families in Northwest Washington — and beyond. That is non negotiable.
I wholly believe organized labor is the backbone of our country that will see us through this especially challenging time.
In solidarity,
Rick
