Every day is infrastructure day in Lynnwood
Last week, I was able to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a long-awaited project on Lynwood's 196th Street.
The $50 million project was funded by a combination of local, state, and federal funds and will have a significant impact on economic development in Lynwood.
Not only does this renovation bring key safety improvements to the heavily-trafficked stretch — including road widening, dedicated bus lanes, larger sidewalks, and a proper median — but also improvements to water, power and other critical infrastructure to attract businesses and developers to 196th.
With these improvements, it is estimated that this project will bring 15,000 jobs to the region just by making the road more attractive for further development.
As I told The Everett Herald: "I am focused on long-term federal investment that creates more jobs and builds a cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible transportation system and we are not done...Every day, not just today, but every day is infrastructure day in Lynnwood."
Together, we can continue to bring essential infrastructure investments back home to Washington.
More soon,
Rick
