I will protect Social Security and Medicare

Here we go again.

Across the country, Republican leaders are talking again about cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

Let me be absolutely clear about where I stand:

I will fight to strengthen Social Security and Medicare, stand against privatizing Social Security or cutting benefits, demand lower prescription drug costs, and always advocate for nutrition assistance for seniors.

I am proud to be a sponsor of the Social Security 2100 Act — a law that would increase benefits, improve protections against inflation, require millionaires and billionaires to pay the same tax rate as working-class folks, and protect Social Security for the future.

Our seniors have spent a lifetime contributing to Social Security and Medicare, and they are entitled to the benefits they earned. Count on me to defend those benefits.
