This law would have saved lives

Gun violence has visited far too many schools across the country, from right here in Marysville to Newtown, Connecticut; Parkland, Florida; and most recently, in Uvalde, Texas.

It is long past time for Congress to take action – and Democrats in the House are ready to pass a comprehensive gun safety bill.

Meanwhile, my Republican colleagues have offered either bad solutions or no solutions to the gun violence plaguing America. Some of their "solutions" would actually make gun violence worse.

That is one critical reason we need to build on our Democratic majority in the House. Chip in $4 now to keep the House blue in 2022 and keep progress on gun safety reform alive.

You know me. I look for sensible, pragmatic solutions. The gun bill I support includes a number of sensible, pragmatic solutions to gun violence, supported by strong majorities of Americans.

We aim to put in place universal background checks to keep guns out of the hands of criminals; limits on large-capacity magazines and bump stocks to reduce the lethality of weapons; require safe storage, to keep guns out of the hands of children; and raise the legal age for buying semi-automatic rifles to 21.

These measures would have kept guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals and saved lives.

Our children deserve nothing less than to go to school without worrying if their classroom is the next target for a mass shooter.

So please, donate $4 now to help win control of Congress this November.
