History is on their side. But together, we will overcome.
There is no sugar-coating the hard truth: if we do not keep working, all our electoral victories last year — and all we will accomplish legislatively this year — could be lost if we do not win the midterm elections next year.
[So please donate $3 today, ahead of Wednesday's first fundraising deadline of the 2022 election cycle. We must maintain the majority in the House to continue to deliver for the American people.}(https://secure.actblue.com/donate/stand-with-rick-larsen?refcode=2021-03-26-eoq&recurring=0&amount=3&amounts=5%2C15%2C25%2C50%2C100)
My team is already working hard to build up the resources needed to defend this seat and help elect Democrats up and down the ballot and across the nation next year. We must prepare today — through grassroots organizing and raising money — for the challenge coming our way.
Unfortunately, history is not on our side. Midterm elections often go against the party of the president. But we have the power to change that. By planning and raising money today we can be ready for that fight.
The other side is already launching massive efforts to win back the House in 2022.
After he lost the election, Donald Trump, supportive Super PAC's, and the Republican Party still raised hundreds of millions of dollars. They have passionate and committed supporters ready to fund their efforts to take back the House and roll back our progress.
That is just the beginning. Over the coming weeks and months, Republicans coast-to-coast and right here in Washington state are going to be hard at work, not only raising money, but organizing to try to take back Congress.
You know what I say? Our hard work and grassroots energy can and will overcome all challenges. It has before, and it will again.
More soon.
