President Biden. Vice President Harris.
We have a new president. We have a new vice president.
Democracy has prevailed.
We are turning the page on the chaos and crisis that came from the White House every single day for the last four years.
Now, it is time to get to work. We have a lot to do. And I am ready to work with this new administration to tackle the issues that face our local communities.
First and foremost, we are going to tackle this pandemic. Science will lead the public health response. We will get critical financial relief out to families, small businesses, schools, hospitals, and state and local governments. Because that is what actually matters to families in Northwest Washington and across America — not petty partisan fights, or political grandstanding.
We will restore our democracy, reform our politics, protect voting rights, and ensure that the voice of the people is heard in our nation's capital.
We will make critical investments in transportation and infrastructure to get our economy back on track and fight climate change.
After all the challenges we faced in 2020, and continue to face in this new year, I stand ready to work on your behalf and remain committed to that mission.
In 2021, I look forward to working both with my colleagues in Congress and with you, my friends and neighbors, to rebuild our country and our democracy.
We have a lot of work to do, but I know we are up to the challenge.
Rick
