Our opponent wants to eliminate the ACA
"I would vote to eliminate the Affordable Care Act."
That is what my Trump Republican opponent said at a recent candidate forum for San Juan County voters. You can watch his comments at the 54:38 mark.
We must fight back against Donald Trump and Republicans' efforts to yank health coverage away from millions of Americans in the middle of a pandemic.
Eliminating the ACA would mean eliminating protections for pre-existing conditions, eliminating young adults from their parents' plans, and eliminating the expansion of Medicaid.
And in Washington state, eliminating the ACA would mean 565,000 people could lose health coverage and 3.1 million people could lose protections for pre-existing conditions.
We cannot let that happen, especially during a public health crisis.
I believe health care is a right. I will keep fighting to protect and expand the ACA and increase access to quality, affordable health care that fits families' budgets.
Vote for your health this fall by joining me in voting to defeat Trump and elect Democrats up and down the ballot. There is too much at stake to sit this election out.
