Understanding our relationship

A lot of my work in the House requires a thorough understanding of U.S. Foreign Policy, particularly that with China.

Like many relationships, it is as complicated as it is important. I wrote a piece on Medium to share my understanding of the nuances of our involvement with China and outlined a four-pillar strategic plan: education, business, military, and a bilateral relationship.

Above all else, the current, confrontational approach to China is not working. It is time for a new strategy. While this plan represents only my views, I believe it will serve as a strong starting point for the U.S.-China Working Group I co-chair. Take a moment to read through my recommendations, let me know what you think!
