Let's face it, we all hate sitting in traffic. It's a waste of time and an assault on our environment. As someone who uses public transportation every day, I understand the importance of transit systems, especially bus systems, for working Americans.
We need solutions to our traffic problems. Investing in energy-efficient buses and transit is critical to reducing carbon emissions and congestion. Chip in ahead of our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline to help fuel our fight for a zero carbon emissions future.
As a member of the House Transportation Committee, your opinion matters to me. American families should be the ones driving the conversation, innovation, and future. Instead, we have super PACs and special interests trying to derail our progress.
We have an end-of-quarter fundraising deadline on September 30, and we need to do everything we can to influence transportation changes. Chip in and help us create a zero-carbon emissions future.
As the founder and co-chair of the Congressional Bus Caucus, I am focused on strengthening federal investment in buses and transit that will keep the economy thriving and commuters traveling to work, school and back home. We have made real progress, and we cannot let up now:
- Skagit Transit was awarded $1.375 million by the Department to help fund construction of a new maintenance and operations facility.
- The Federal Transit Administration issued a $43.2 million grant for Community Transit's Swift Green line. The Green line is the second bus rapid transit route in Snohomish County that will connect major employment and residential centers including Canyon Park, Paine Field, and Mill Creek Town Center.
Investing in Washington's transportation infrastructure is critical to sustain and build on the state's economic growth and put folks in the Pacific Northwest to work. Chip in and let's get this done together.
