I voted to hold them in contempt

I am writing to let you know that last week, I voted to hold Attorney General Barr and former White House Counsel Donald McGahn in contempt of Congress.

Congress has a responsibility to hold the president accountable and remove the corruption and incompetence in the administration. So, I voted to authorize House Committees that have filed subpoenas during their oversight investigations to seek enforcement on those subpoenas.

Right now, there are several lawsuits against the president from House Committees. And every step of the way, the White House has obstructed legitimate Congressional inquiries, ignored subpoenas, and spun up diversions.

Our vote sent a clear message to the administration: Congress will continue to serve as a check and balance on the Executive Branch just as intended in the Constitution.

More soon,

Rick
