it's time to speak out, time to organize

It's a war.

A war on public health. A war on human rights. A war on personal autonomy.

What else can you call attempt after vile attempt to restrict rights to safe and legal abortions?

Week after week, there's a new outrage, a new draconian law passed. Alabama. Missouri. Iowa. Mississippi.

Republicans are pushing all-out because, thanks to Donald Trump's activist and extreme Supreme Court appointments, they believe they can overturn Roe v. Wade.

We can't let them. We must pass legislation to further protect the right of women to decide whether to terminate a pregnancy; and prohibit any government entity from denying, interfering with, or discriminating against that choice.

It's time to speak out. It's time to organize.

I promise that, over the coming weeks and months, I'll be taking action. I'm asking you to join me, sign the petition and tell my colleagues in Congress: pass legislation to protect reproductive choice.

Because what happens next matters for all of us, none of us can afford to sit this one out.
