Lift off
I was elected by my colleagues as the Chair of the House Subcommittee on Aviation.
The Subcommittee on Aviation has jurisdiction over all aspects of civil aviation and oversight of the Federal Aviation Administration.
This session, we will focus on increasing safety standards by identifying and implementing industry best practices. In doing so, we will be guided by the spirit of innovation and a commitment to ensuring the United States remains competitive in this field globally.
This isn't just about a global economy – it's about ensuring a healthy market at home. Aviation is a $3.6 billion dollar industry in Washington. In Snohomish County alone, there are more than 43,000 aerospace jobs.
I look forward to advocating for Washington workers, fostering technological innovation, increasing global competition in the industry, and – above all else – keeping Americans safe.
