The new Democratic majority is already working on an aggressive agenda that includes putting the middle class first, protecting our environment, holding this administration accountable and strengthening our democracy through voter protection laws.
Our last several elections have been marred by anti-democratic measures, voter intimidation, and suppression.
This year, we observed efforts of anti-democratic measures across the country — most notably in Georgia and North Carolina. These hateful efforts have undermined Americans' ability to vote.
That's why I've started this petition to call on my colleagues to strengthen our democracy through voter protection laws:
- Improving access to polling places and increasing ballot security;
- Establishing national automatic voter registration;
- Putting an end to partisan gerrymandering;
- Restoring key provisions of the Voting Rights Act.
