One year

Since Donald Trump's inauguration exactly one year ago, he and the Republicans have shown their inability to govern.

It culminated yesterday when, despite their total control of Congress and the White House, Republicans shut down the federal government rather than pass a Dream Act.

Nearly 17,800 young people in Washington state who have lived in this country for almost their entire lives face deportation because Donald Trump ended the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Families will be torn apart.

It's an inexcusable failure. Our government failed to protect these young people who are our friends and neighbors, everyday people across Northwest Washington.

It's time to mobilize. Time to organize. Time to fight this hate and divisiveness.

Our movement began the moment Donald Trump was sworn in one year ago.

It continues today as hundreds of thousands of Americans march in support of our country's women and girls.

It will carry us through November.

Let's take back Congress.
