Larsen Leads the Pack in Washington’s 2nd District
Raised $135,169.79 in First Quarter; Stockpiling $776,561.02 Cash On Hand
Everett, WA - Congressman Rick Larsen announced today that his re-election effort is strong thanks to his supporters. The Citizens to Elect Rick Larsen campaign reported raising $135,169.79 from January 1st through March 31st, 2012, and reported $776,561.02 cash on hand in the most recent Federal Election Commission report.
The strength of the Larsen campaign reaches beyond its impressive financial edge. Already this year the Larsen campaign is off to a strong start knocking on over 2,000 doors, holding community coffees throughout the district, and picking up several early party endorsements.
Larsen and his campaign are taking nothing for granted. “There is no time to waste," said Larsen. “My campaign is starting early because there is a lot of work to do. I will work hard to earn the support of those I have represented for the past eleven years as well as the new voters in South Snohomish County.” Larsen, born and raised in Arlington, WA, is running for his seventh term for U.S. Representative for Washington State’s 2nd Congressional District. His dad, Dick Larsen, worked as a lineman for the Snohomish County Public Utility District. His mom, Yolanda Larsen, stayed at home full-time raising Rick and his seven brothers and sisters. She was an important influence on Rick, encouraging him to be involved in the local community.
Rick and his wife, Tiia, have two sons, Robert and Per. They represent the fifth generation of the Larsen family to call this area home.
